It doesn't seem like this would be to difficult to implement and would be a great help. A lot of people have been transitioning over to the new format and to send transactions to them one must first use an external tool to convert the cashaddr back to the legacy format. I'd also like to have the option to see my receiving addresses as the new format.
This also helps to prevent people from sending transactions to the wrong chain such as sending BCH to a BTC wallet and vice versa.
