Hey Dazza. Can you send me your plan for Legal Hackathon and I can formulate a blog.

I'm going to make a file for it under the Summer 2014 directory.

Please let me know what aspects you think we should highlight for a blog post like that. For a start, the schedule aspect can be found at: legalhackathon.info (as it stands now). The overall explanation and overview (cribbed from legalhackathon.org/about) is:

The MIT Legal Hackathon is an online participatory event taking place June 12-15, 2014.

Register to participate in order to communicate, collaborate and contribute with other people through the online sessions at this Legal Hackathon. Registered participants will also receive updates by email and have access to the small group Media Lab Unhangout sessions and other creative hacking services.

Overview and Flow

LegalHackathon.org serves as the new media interface to experience and engage in this online event. Live small group discussion and team collaboration for this event will be conducted through MIT Media Lab Unhangout sessions and augmented by live broadcasts embedded on the conference blog (under re-construction).

Some sessions of the MIT Legal Hackathon will be conducted jointly with collaborating groups, including Legal Hackers of various cities, corporate and organizational teams participating from their offices, and relevant advocacy organizations. A joint session is planned with the Open Notice Initiative’s “Legal Hackers Data Control & Transparency Hack” in-person event on June 14th in London, England. The OpenGov Foundation, DC Legal Hackers, NY Legal Hackers and Customer Commons have also indicated interest in staging collaborative sessions or other activities.

This online event serves as the launch of a series of connected Legal Hackathons taking place throughout the summer of 2014. Several sessions of the MIT Legal Hackathon will host projects and other activities carrying forward into one or more coordinated multi-site Legal Hackathons in Berlin, London, San Francisco, Tal Aviv taking place July 12th-13th, 2014. More announcements are planned and anticipated about in-person and online activities carrying forward projects and collaboration throughout the June, July and early August. The summer session series will culminate with Hackcess to Justice 2014 on August 7-10, 2014 at Suffolk University Law School.
