Severe FPS drops and stuttering #29

Hi there!

Description:

When running ACC Race Control during events on the same machine as I'm racing on (I'm the only admin on the server from the organizer side), I experience severe stuttering after completing a few laps, making the game unplayable. This issue resolves immediately when ACC Race Control is closed, with FPS returning to a stable 90.

System Specifications:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D RAM: 32 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 Storage: 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT VR HMD: HP Reverb G2

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch Assetto Corsa Competizione in VR.
  2. Run ACC Race Control simultaneously on the same machine.
  3. Drive for 2-3 laps.

Expected Result:

The game should maintain a stable FPS and remain playable while running ACC Race Control.

Actual Result:

After running a few laps, the game stutters heavily, making it unplayable. Closing ACC Race Control restores FPS to a stable 90.

Any advice or potential solutions would be greatly appreciated. :)

If this problem only happens i vr im afraid i wont be able to debug it since i dont have vr.

To diagnose the issue you can run the broadcasting api test client provided by kunos. Its a bit hidden but you can find it by downloading the ACC dedicated server. You should already have it in your steam library if you look for "tools". Once downloaded, look for "/broadcasting/testclient/ksBroadcastingTestClient.exe" and run it.

If the problem still persists with the test client then im afraid its a problem with the game.

A second thing you can try is to reduce/increase the update interval. Maybe the stuttering gets better/worse.
