If you click on Download for an audiobook, it is downloaded both via WLAN and Cellular. The idea is that there is an option in the settings to allow only one download in the WLAN.
Why?
The data volume is often limited and you therefore don't want to use it. I can imagine some scenarios:
the download is started in the WLAN, the WLAN is switched off in the middle or you are out of range. In this case, the download would take place via cellular.
you are on the move and accidentally click on the download button.
deactivate this option on the child's iPhone, as it may not understand the difference between WLAN and cellular. This can save unnecessary cellular traffic.
