Thanks for the issue. We change the bug type from functionality bug to feature flaw because the function works as specified/expected (i.e., the behavior does not contradict with UG or any description of the feature). However, we agree that there is a missing validity checking here (i.e., a limit for the number of digits in a phone number), which could be considered as a feature flaw.
