If you come in the hotel, and then buy something in the catalogue and trade someone, you see the new furniture (like supposed to). But if you cancel the trade, buy something again after you cancelled and then trade again, you don't see the new furniture you bought till you buy something in the catalogue (in the mean time that you're trading)
