Change default values #39

Hi Ivan,

as we talked I want to change some Variables:

  1. Beep Trim velocity
  2. Seat shaker volume
  3. Avionic displays: position/size on front display
  4. The size of the NVG Circle (forgot to mention)

Can you please tell me, where i can find the variables so that i can change by myself. Thank you.

Hi Leonhard,

  1. To adjust the speed of the trim I would try increasing the value of the variables hardware/pilot/cyclic/{longitudinal,lateral}/trim/gain of the as532 entity within D-SIM. If this works you can make the change permanent by adding these variables to the file {DSIM_ROOT}/entity/rotorsky/as532/default.xml. If you need further help with this let me know.
  2. The seat shaker volume can be changed from the task list in D-SIM under "vibration_pilot", the variable is volume from 0->1. However because the variable is not listed in the default configuration loaded for the simulator, I think the strength is regulated directly on the amplifier. Did the setting on the amplifier change by any chance? If so, you can try to adjust it back on the amplifier first before modifying the variable in D-SIM.
  3. The avionics display properties can be changed from the task list in D-SIM under "smd_1" and "smd_2", window/{x,y} is the position (in pixels) and scale is size of the window. You can tweak these values until the instruments cover the screen.
  4. The NVG properties can also be changed from the task list under "D-World", nvg/tube/field_of_view can be increased to make it bigger. Also nvg/tube/ring/field_of_view should be increased in proportion.

Hi Ivan,

i tried the variables and they are working except of the beep trim velocity. Have you another guess which variable it could be?
