How about a weekly screencast discussing the top stories from the previous
week?

I think its a good idea, especially if you can get some of the authors to talk 
about
their articles/code/products. I've listened to a few podcasts where they use 
Skype
for people to call in and it didn't sound too bad.

It takes time, I don't think I'd have a lot of time to spend on this, but

U mean screencast, as in a video demo?  

Perhaps a page where mods can upload camtasia 3 (free, you know!) recordings of 
demos n stuff?  

Sounds almost like a very simple blog-type functionality.  The real issue is 
how to 
get content in there on a regular basis.
