Initialize tooltips after ajax update to page???

What steps will reproduce the scenario?
1. get tooltips working correctly
2. add content via ajax
3. get tooltips to work for new content

So I am using Ruby/Rails, which probably doesn't matter in this case, but I 
need to re-initialize 
the tooltip js from the controller after new content has been added to the 
page.  Anyone know 
how to handle this?

When I use lightbox, the call is Lightbox.prototype.updateImageList();

Certainly there must be something similar, but I don't know enough javascript 
to figure it out.  
Any help is greatly appreciated.

$$(".tt").each( function(link) {new Tooltip(link)});
