Hi,
my best guess on that would be, that you encounter issue #452, which has been
fixed with r1195. Unfortunately your debug level seems not to be set to "high",
so except the usual warning concerning blacklist.conf (which can be ignored)
and a problem with UTF8 conversion (which should not be the cause for ALL TV
Shows failing) there's not much in your log.
So either provide a new Log with debug level set to high, as described in the
FAQ's:
http://bit.ly/wHUpP7
Or give a version >= 1195 a try and report back with any results!
Thanks in advance & cheers, Erik

Trying to update to a newer version but doing it through the Valerie menu comes
up with a load of errors about how the packages have no valid architecture and
it's ignoring them, then after a restart Project Valerie is missing from the
menus and web interface. So I tried uploading r1210 and manually installing
that but I still don't see it in the menus. The log should hopefully show more
detail this time though.

Searching about it I see someone else had this problem on ViX too, they didn't
figure out a solution to it though:

Hi spectre,
thanks for the research and feedback... So if I get comment #6 in the linked
thread correctly, you are not allowed to upgrade manually to a newer version?!
Maybe there's some workaround available in order to get a version different
from the feed's version installed, but since I don't have that Box I can't help
you with that, sorry... :-(
I'll change the state of this issue back to "new" and adapt the Issue's summary
in order to get other project members having a look at this - perhaps someone
else has a good idea. :-)
Thanks again & Cheers, Erik

Yeah it looks like I either have to wait for ViX to update their tailored
version of Project Valerie or switch to another image. From what they said,
getting around it and installing another version breaks things in the image.

could you ask them what exactly they changed. maybe we can do some magic to
help out ;-)

I asked and this is what they told me: "The best person to contact would be
andyblac as he's the image coder and to be honest most of what he does goes
totally over my head. i only know that the ViX image is highly customized and
in large parts totally re-written by andy to the point where some plugins that
will work on other images dont work with ViX unless modified.
if you could ask one of their team to contact us we can see about possibly
working together."

Hi spectre,
thanks for the information.
One final thing to clarify: where can we get in touch with "andyblac"? By using
the forum you linked to in comment #4?
Thanks again & Cheers, Erik

Yeah the forum is probably the easiest way to get in touch with him, this is a
link to his profile: http://www.world-of-satellite.com/member.php?189-andyblac

Great - thanks a lot for your research...
=> I change the state back to "new" to indicate, that we don't wait for any
more information from your side...
Thanks again & Cheers, Erik
