Eclipse plugin doesn't work on leopard #113

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install a fresh eclipse 3.5 on an external hard drive, using a Macbook
(Leopard)
2. Install the js-test plugin
3. Installation goes well, but there is no associated view, and no
preference panel
4. Move the installed Eclipse to another macbook (same hardware), but with
Snow Leopard. Launch. View and panel are there, js-test is working... oO

Tested on four macbooks (two Snow Leopard and two Leopard) with the same
result.

Using Java 1.6 on all.

I can provide whatever additional info you may need, but being no java
expert I would need some direction.

Thanks

I have the same issue with fresh install on Eclipse
(eclipse-jee-galileo-SR2-win32) on
Windows XP 32 bit. No views/preferences available. JsTestDriver version from
the
update site is 1.1.1b. Plugins directory list
com.google.eclipse.javascript.jstestdriver.core_1.1.1.b.jar and
com.google.eclipse.javascript.jstestdriver.ui_1.1.1.b.jar

Thanks

So, I'm on leopard and it works. So it may be something else.

Can you open the error log (window -> show view -> error log) in eclipse and
see if
there are any errors?

I'm also having what I believe is the exact same problem.

1.) Fresh download and install of current version of STS
2.) New workspace.
3.) Installed only jsTestDriver.
4.) View & Preferences are missing.
5.) Using Java 1.6
6.) Error Log displays no errors.

I would be happy to offer more info upon request.

Oddly enough, I was able to successfully install jsTestDriver on my home
computers with no problems. It is unclear to me what differences may exist
between the systems. Still investigating.

Is this 32 or 64 bit eclipse?

It was 64 bit, but I'm not longer at that job so I cannot offer any more
details. Thanks for all the help. For what its worth, jsTestDriver is working
on the computer at the new job. This ticket can be closed.

Well, that is one way to fix the issue. I'll have to remember it as a suggested
work around. :)
