@abertschi, were we able to fix the issues on this branch? Do we discard this idea?

I'd rather not do these last minute changes. Unless @leopoldsedev tested it with the newest changes now on milestone7. I'd leave further investigation open to the Optimization and Improvement Section in the report.

Nope, just merged in milestone7 into this branch. rpctest gets stuck.
