Reach out to instructors that have taught SQL for their notes (scan workshop data https://github.com/LibraryCarpentry/librarycarpentry.github.io/blob/master/_data/workshops.yml for SQL instructors). Create a new folder in repo called "instructor_notes" where these notes can be submitted to. Deadline of February 28.

First set of feedback:

Generally, people appreciated the “de-mystifying” aspect of the lesson
People had the most trouble understanding joins and how they relate to the SQL syntax presented.
Didn’t have enough time to cover joins to a depth that would improve this understanding
The estimated time to teach aggregation and joining is very optimistic
Predictably, people not familiar with thinking in SQL terms had a lot of difficulty translating textual descriptions of the problem into an SQL query
A module with strategies and practice exercises on breaking down a free-form question into something that resembles a query would be very useful.
Might help to have a guide for basic terms (like ORDER BY, etc.) like for Regular Expressions

ISSNs used too much and/or could have used cases where had to query multiple ISSNs for same journal.
Need to look at different join exercise ideas and also to reduce the amount since a number of workshops reported back that they could not finish the joins section (may be good to include an episode on database design/data modeling/ERDs ahead of joins?
Need for cheatsheets which KU supplied in their workshop
KU workshop did jargon busting for DBs ahead of time, relational dbs, fields, records, data types, etc...

Oslo - sqllite command line tool used to link/connect lesson to Shell lesson. Did not work well but can consider referencing the tool in a next steps/others tools you can use when you get back to work? The other one I would suggest is Navicat but this is a paid solution (but one that I've found to be quite helpful in my own work).
