Resume/CV wording for Library Carpentry attendees #7

The question was asked at the Week Two workshop about standard wording for including attendance at Library Carpentry on a resume or CV. Not knowing what resume/CV formats people have in mind, I propose the following as a starting point.

Library Carpentry (James Baker and Software Sustainability Institute), City University London, November 2015 https://github.com/LibraryCarpentry Curriculum: regular expressions, shell commands, git, Open Refine.

Any advance of this? Any wording you'd like to see included?

Hi James,

Do you think we could have a certificate of attendance?

drjwbaker commented 8 years ago

@EleniZazani: if there is sufficient will, yes. Do you have any examples in mind? Particularly from smaller, less formal/institutional events such as this?

EleniZazani commented 8 years ago

@drjwbaker I will dig out in my less formal certificates and bring you something next Monday.

Brilliant!

Thanks James & @EleniZazani ! My other question would be where to place this. For example, on American resumes you can sometimes have a 'skills' section but I'm not sure about UK as I've yet to re-format mine to UK standards. Or maybe this would go better under education?

drjwbaker commented 8 years ago

@HKollef Not my specialism I'm afraid...

Further to this discussion, please could those who are interested take a look at my certificates suggestion here https://github.com/LibraryCarpentry/week-one-library-carpentry/issues/8
