I checked source code and context in the docu.
The wording Selection Pointer
is suspect here, as it does definitely not select anything.
Basically the menu entry in question is to trigger the ESC
key action, and thus to cancel the active tool. When no tool is active, it does nothing.
I believe the intention behind this wording was, that the user gets back the arrow mouse cursor, the Selection Pointer
, when it is in cross mode for tools.
Because change the wording in source code is no option for 2.2.0.x
I reject this PR.

In some applications a command is terminated after it is used. A specific mention of Selection Pointer where the concept of sticky commands and how to stop (kill) them is explained is important.
