2 years ago This could be easily fixed by having the English word cat also accept "el gato"
I think when it comes to a language that has grammatical gender, that we should always teach the word with a word that shows the grammatical gender of the word. Rather than having "gato" and "el gato", we should just have "el gato". Also, having the word without the "grammatical gender defining word" and with the "grammatical gender defining word", makes skill files double the size and LibreLingo will be teaching the user double of the same word, which seems unnecessary to me. We should just remember to add to the mini-dictionary, the version of the word without the "grammatical gender defining word", so that when people hover over the source language version of the word they can see what gender the word has. (When hovering over the English word "cat" in this course, it should display "el gato", so learners know what gender the word "gato" has. The source language word "cat" will have to have a mini-dictionary entry added as the word "cat" wasn't thought in the skill, therefore won't be added to the mini-dictionary automatically as opposed to the source language word "the cat")
Perhaps, we could make a "Course Creation Suggestions"/"Course Creation Tips" page in the course docs at some point with the above point and other points to help people making courses
Articles shouldn't be matched with the English ones because it's really easy to make a mistake
I am clicking a cat, but it's "wrong" - the course shouldn't add extra versions of the same thing with different artices as a "gotcha" but rather should focus on teaching which animal is which
