Rockband VR issues #1012

Hi - this seems to be the return of issue #572....

I have the HTC Vive and was interested in playing Rockband VR and saw it on the support list, so I went ahead and purchased it. I followed the instructions to install the 1.3.0 version of Revive, and Rockband just crashes on startup (launching from the headset revive menu). It may be worth noting that the four standard Oculus titles launch and work just fine. However, I have not purchased or tried any other games to see if it is just Rockband... I have however tried just about every troubleshooting option that I thought could have applied with no luck (the short list would be reverting to older versions, clean installs of everything, messing with admin/compatibility settings), so I thought I would post.

Thanks in advance!

As an update - all other games that I have tried have worked (Lucky's tale and Echo arena)... Rockband still crashes on startup. I would really really appreciate any time spent looking in to this... I have been wanting to play the game for quite a while and hope that I didn't just waste $40....

Did you manage to resolve this issue, my rock band vr goes to loading page for a few seconds then disappears-it does show up in processes on task manager but with no cpu usage.

Danktoast commented 6 years ago

No - still no luck.... I have the exact same thing happen. rbvr process is running with some memory and no cpu. Still holding out hope for a fix!

I have managed to get rock band vr to run, just charging my controllers before I fully test and I'll take you through what I did to get it working Danktoast as I am unsure what originally stopped it from working.

I believe I may have had window 10 version 1803, I reinstalled windows 10 from my original disk I currently have windows 10 1703 fully updated from microsoft.

Rock band would not work initially launching from revive but when launching from steam it launched, using revive 1.4.2 I had problems with tracking so I reinstalled V1.3.0 and all the tracking issues disappeared and I am now able to play rock band vr in all its glory. I am so glad I did not return and persevered with it, I love this game, it what VR was made for
