Screen Goes Black in Asgard's Wrath #1352

Open BorgiaMkUltra opened 4 years ago

BorgiaMkUltra commented 4 years ago

Describe the bug During combat scenes, for instance, the opening scene of Asgard's Wrath where you are fighting the Octopus monster, the screen will go black for about a second, and then the game image will return. It can be very disruptive as the screen will completely black out during some of the most intense moments of combat.

To Reproduce Try playing the opening scene of the game and see if this happens for you.

I did not see this in the opening scene, but I have encountered a similar issue when setting off certain effects on anything but low settings specifically when throwing weapons, parrying attacks, or breaking barrels. I am using a Valve Index with an RTX 2080 + i5 9600 + 32gbs of 2400 mhz ram. Looking at Steam frametime charts it looks like the app just totally hangs for about a second then resumes normal play. Normally I'm seeing frametimes of about 6 ms then it will just drop about 30-80 frames in a row before resuming.

I saw this happen as well. I think this COULD be a Nvidia driver issue, because I think it went away after I upgraded my driver. Make sure you updated to 436.48 (https://www.vrfocus.com/2019/10/nvidias-latest-game-ready-driver-adds-support-for-asgards-wrath-vive-cosmos/)
