Adobe Medium latency issue #1817

Open lionlion44 opened 1 year ago

I have major lag/latency issues with adobe medium that I don't get in the other apps. My system is good enough to run it without any issues but the latency is so bad that I can see the edges of the render view creep into view when I move my head. Other more graphically intense apps run fine. I have used revive with medium on my previous computer and it ran well, I'm hoping it's just a setting I'm not aware of. Anyone else have this problem?

System: Headset: Original Vive OS: Windows 11 GPU: 4090 CPU: 7950x

Versions: Revive: 3.2.0 SteamVR: 1.25.7

I've been used Adobe Medium for 2 years. Everything was Ok, I was enjoying the sculpting in virtual reality mode. About one month ago I noticed that after install automatic update of Steam VR lastest version 1.26.1 I get the same problem what lionlion44 mentioned. I tried to find any info about this problem, I reinstalled Steam, SteamVR, Revive, Medium. Nothing helped. Only I noticed when I switch to Beta Steam VR (In Steam VR Betas) the Medium won't start, except when I switch to NONE then it start but it impossible to work for it's latency. Other applications softwares as well as games works fine. Only I see the solvation is to wait new update of Steam VR ..

I have the same issue. Downgrading to v3.1.1 solved the issue.

The experience feels like how stroke stability feels on Photoshop, or any digital drawing app. Your hand and head follow after a delay, smoothly to the next position. The delay feels big, closer to 1 second. I feel like it might have something to do with this feature:

Pose prediction has been rewritten resulting in improved motion smoothing

It seems like the smoothing is too high for Adobe Medium.

I can confirm this, same issue here. I reverted to 2.1.1 and the software works well.

Same issue and partial solution here. New PC so reinstalling everything. Had it all working on previous PC. The latest revive 3.2.0 to run Medium By Adobe from the Oculus store had an extremely noticeable delay, completely unusable and sick-inducing. Hand/controller position was clearly following maybe half a second behind my physical movement, and if I moved my head fast, I could see the edges of what was being rendered as if it was a rectangle screen with black on the outside.

Uninstalling then installing the previous 3.1.1 version of Revive fixed the lag/delay. (PS: I assum superhubit meant 3.1.1, not 2.1.1?)

Unfortunately I am still not able to launch Medium By Adobe from within Steam's interface, such as the store/library, or the Steam Home VR hub area. When I try, it runs the "up next" but then it disappears and nothing happens. That used to work on my previous PC for a seamless experience running Oculus programs while staying in Steam Home. Luckily opening the Revive Dashboard and clicking on the tile for Medium by Adobe in there does still successfully launch--but I have to take the headset off and use the mouse for that.

Had the same issue, Adobe Medium was running with a delay that made it unusable. Installing Revive 3.1.1 fixed the problem.
