I can't speak for Vive users, but I'm trying to run Rock Band VR through Revive with an actual Oculus Rift so I can run it through SteamVR and use OpenVRDesktopDisplayPortal to watch my Twitch chat with. Launching the game through Revive pops a "Game failed entitlement check" error.
Edit: According to a person on a Reddit post, injecting the game with the Revive Dashboard lets it run and sure enough I got into the game. I'm getting wicked latency on my notes, though, and I'm not sure if it's me or the game itself.
@spteege Running Revive on an Oculus Rift is definitely not supported, you're going through 2 wrappers in that case which is bound to lead to issues.
Rock band VR works great with revive. Just attach one of your vive controllers to the top of a supported rock band guitar and adjust until it matches the orientation of your guitar :)
Getting nothing but black on the window when I start rockband vr. Nothing in the headset but home. Anyone see this before?
Are you running the SteamVR beta? There are known compatibility issues between Revive and the beta, do not use it.
I was in the steam beta. I just opted out and restarted steam. same issue. Going to try reinstalled the steamvr devices.
Just to confirm, you are using an HTC Vive headset?
correct.
Tried any other games? For example, the Dreamdeck or First Contact demos?
the oculus hand demo does work just fine. Rockband vr seems to be the only one giving me problems.
All it does is I see a black window, and on the steamVR panel. rbvr.exe unresponsive in red.
Also get the behavior where the game itself won't even load. It dies off before the window comes up on my monitor.
Jumping on the Rock Band VR thread. Any way for the Vive microphone to be recognised as the Oculus microphone? As I've tried changing default microphone on the taskbar, but it looks like the game is hard coded to find the Rift microphone.
If the game is hardcoded to use the Rift microphone it would likely use the Oculus SDK to find it. Revive already implements those functions to return the default microphone instead. However there are Oculus Games that use some special properties of the Rift microphone that don't seem to work with other microphones (see issue #351).
I'm also having the issue of the Vive microphone not working. Any ideas? I should note the rest of the game seems to run just fine.
can anyone confirm if rockband VR works with the guitar and everything? I really wanna play this game but you know..... oculus.
