RoboRecall Headset Error when launching #853

Open Maxvygit opened 6 years ago

Maxvygit commented 6 years ago

I injected using the Revive taskbar icon, and when it launches I get "Hardware Error, You have a pending hardware issue that is preventing you from entering VR. Please check that your headset and sensor are connected."

When launching from SteamVR it's on the RoboRecall window: https://i.imgur.com/bqMvWOq.png

When launching from Oculus Home, it's just a pop-up: https://i.imgur.com/ggVgmDf.png

I have tried restarting, I have injected into the shipping.exe file as was said in another issue/thread.

I just bought this game and would appreciate any help, or, if none is available and this game is unplayable on Vive for the time being I'll probably get a refund.

I just bought this game

You have to restart your PC or the Oculus service at least once after you bought a new game: https://github.com/LibreVR/Revive/wiki/Troubleshooting#im-getting-an-entitlement-error-or-oculus-rift-not-found

CrossVR commented 6 years ago

Ah, I see you already tried restarting, then you're probably not using the latest beta: https://github.com/LibreVR/Revive/releases/tag/1.2.0-beta3

I already went and got an exchange for the oculus because other than this I had a lot of problems, even with steam games and basic functionality. Thanks a lot for what you’re doing though; it’s amazing <3

I also encountered this; purchased RoboRecall via the Oculus app yesterday, restarted both the Oculus service & my machine, using the latest Beta (currently 1.2.0.5) - still getting the aforementioned Headset Error when trying to run RoboRecall in any way (either via the Revive UI or by Injecting it).

CrossVR commented 6 years ago

Please post your log files after attempting to start Robo Recall, you can do that as follows:

  1. Press WinKey + R to bring up the run dialog
  2. Enter %APPDATA%\Revive
  3. Drag the two txt files into the comment box here.

ReviveOverlay.txt ReviveInjector.txt

Seems like the Injector failed. Any ideas why? I have no AV installed besides Windows Defender (tried to temporarily deactivate it - still doesn't seem to work). Both the Oculus software & Revive are installed on the D drive (non-OS HD), if that's relevant. Windows 10.

CrossVR commented 6 years ago

You probably just need to install Revive in your Program Files folder instead. Be sure you uninstall the current installation of Revive first.

Zevuulon commented 6 years ago

Just tried that; wasn't sure whether you meant Program Files on the D drive or on the OS drive (C), so I tried both (D:\Program Files\Revive\ & C:\Program Files\Revive) - neither seemed to work (Headset Error). Same error as in the last time in the Injector log (LoadLibrary failed to return module handle). Lmk if there's any way I can further help in debugging this.

For the people who prefer RoboRevive, I've released a new version: https://github.com/LibreVR/RoboRevive/releases/tag/v1.1

Tried it - now UE4 crashes altogether, before even loading the game. I saw the Revive logs update around the time of launch though, with the same error as before. Tried to uninstall Revive & launch again - still crashing on startup. I'm getting some UE-specific logs & dmps etc., can that help debugging this in any way? If I'm a UE4 developer - could my engine version somehow cause this crash? (I currently have both 4.17.2 & 4.18.2 installed) Would gladly provide any further info that may help.

Nevermind, uninstalled & reinstalled everything from scratch - it's now all working like a charm w/ RoboRevive. Kudos!
