Ignore or Hide feature in unmapped Files area #2548

Is there an existing issue for this?

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe

There are a few albums that are not being recognized by lidarr even though they are in MusicBrainz. When trying to a lidarr:musicbrainzid search the search doesnt return any results. Other IDs return results though. There are also one off singles that do not show up either ( like comdey skits from comedians ) that i want to keep in the folder but dont need them matched in lidarr. Example Album that lidarr doesnt find: lidarr:31cf435b-58e8-477e-98b0-e3d1c25e78c4

The main reason for this ask is so that its easy to tell when clicking on the Unmapped files if any albums added recently have files that were not mapped in.

Describe the solution you'd like

Like the mass delete button i saw mentioned in another feature request, a simple ignore button, either mass or if easier, per file like the delete button is on the unmapped files page ( via the wrench ). Not sure if this would require a filter feature to be added so you could see them again ( probably a better way to handle it ) just in case whatever was stopping the match was fixed or items were added to musicbrainz later and now match.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Havent considered any alternatives cause it makes sense to leave the files with the artist name ( keep them together ). I dont see the point in creating a different folder tree to hold stuff for an artist that isnt matching in lidarr.

Anything else?

Nope ( found that the Date added does save, i must have been swapping between windows/sessions )

I'd like to second this feature request. I've just moved my music folder to a new PC and I have several thousand files in Unmapped, many of which are unmappable due to the way my library is set up, but my server is spending precious i/o and cpu cycles scanning these several times a day. The Unmapped Files page is currently useless to me as a result since I'd never be able to find files I actualy care about mapping in that list. Possible fixes include: -an ignore button in the UI like OP suggests on the Unmapped Files page (maybe with checkboxes to mass apply it) -a tickbox to "ignore unmapped files in this root folder" in Settings > Media Management -Plex lets you place a file named .plexignore in a folder that specifies filenames/subfolders to ignore, something similar could be done here

I also second this. I have several thousand files that will take an extremely long time to manually map despite my best attempts to provide already clean & proper tags before import.

Constantly rescanning these files and attempting to match them repeatedly puts a strain on my server several times a day that I have to manually stop lidarr and only run it once a week due to this.

Possible fix: Just let us ignore these files since deleting is not an option for most people

This 'unmapped Files' option is dangerous, without any warning it deleted my complete music library, my scan failed halfway, and 15000 song ended up unmapped! (No worries I have 3,2,1 backups) but still annoying.

I also second this. Sometimes I like/prefer to store multiple releases of same album and this is a pain to manage them. Having them all in unmapped files is just bloating this list. Marking as ignored, and them removing them from this list, and not scan for them would be a great option which I'd like to have.

I want an ignore option too. I too keep multiple releases and thousands of files that I don't want to delete. Scanning an artist scans everything and it takes hours. just to update one album sometimes.

An ignore option would be great, however I would suggest to make it a flag that allows these files/albums to be scanned periodically but at a much lower frequency (say once a month?), this way if an album is added to musicbrainz it can still be picked up.

I have a similar problem as the people above, my files are tagged with musicbrainz ID if available, however I have many files that are not in there. A scan takes a long time and the result is predictable, no new matches are found, it just burns through CPU cycles and disk IO for no good reason.

I'd like to have an ignore feature as well. Some especially non english and special releases are not even in musicbrainz, and posting them, waiting for the allowance, then marking them is a big hassle just to clean out this queue.

Marking would also solve the high cpu consumption of the background tasks for analysis if the queue is big, which happens every night on my nas server which I host lidarr. I hear the fans spin burst for like 10 - 15 mins every night, and the reason is recurring analysis of the same tracks again and again.
