Several ideas and suggestions for improvement #13

Hi,

First off, I hope you'll forgive me for putting this all in one report and secondly, I am generally enjoying the site very much. Which is the reason I am willing to send you this much feedback. Some of it might be your design decisions but hopefully something useful as well. I am on a laptop with Firefox.

  1. Since I cannot open things in new tabs while browsing (no middle- or right-click), the back button should lead back to where I was. It is very frustrating to go check out some game and then scroll back to the same place in my activity feed when I'm done. Also, please give backspace and browse back buttons the same functionality as the <-Back link on the site, the latter is very inconvenient to use.
  2. Would like to scroll activity feeds endlessly, load more when I reach the end. Right now I know I'm missing updates from people who, for example, just joined and added 60+ games. Unless I go through their entire library, I will never see their comments.
  3. Too many clicks to reach user profiles. Mouseover of user icons could give the little overview screen, clicking should go straight to profile. Since the site is still pretty slow, the extra click is pretty annoying.
  4. The game-adding interface is way too big in terms of resolution or spacing? I am on a widescreen laptop and it's simply grueling to use. I have to scroll after every two things inserted. The format is simple and nice but it could be more compact.

The site feels like it was designed with tablets or maybe consoles in mind. While that's commendable, please don't forget us ol' PC people. That's it for now and once again, I'm writing to you because I like the site not just to whine! :D Keep up the good work!

Wow, some great feedback and suggestions. We love to hear super critical details like these as it does show us that you care, and it encourages us to try even harder to get these issues resolved for users that are clearly using the site to the extent where these things would really matter. It may take some time for us to tackle these issues and provide timelines, but we'll do our best to try to keep you in the loop and ask for any suggestions while deciding how to best resolve the problems.
