how to power through the BATT connector? #1

I have connected a fully charged Lipo battery pack to the JST connector. The device power on, bot goes into a reset loop, i can see the loop happening over the serial pins (RXD, TXD). Added a capacitor across + and -, same issue. Tried with another (identical) board, same issue. Powering through the micro-USB works fine.

Am i missung something ?? Any ideas ????

HI. Can your battery power not drive ESP32? You can check the battery power. Or positive and negative connections. If you still can't solve it, you can go to the platform to request after-sale service. They will solve your problem in detail.

@LilyGO : Can you confirm a few specs?

  1. What battery voltage is needed to drive the T7?
  2. Does it automatically charge/discharge when USB power is hot-swapped? (Some boards need a jumper to go from USB to battery)
  3. What is the mA pull from the T7 running at both low-power idle, and full utilization?

Thanks

Same issue here! We used this Board on a project and couldnt find out what the issue is until we fortunately found this github issue. After removing the power connector and powering through usb everything works fine. It seems the board enters a reboot loop if powered with the JST connector on the back of the board. This needs to be mentioned on the Readme so that other people dont get frustrated and confused when using the jst connector!
