All DAPLink firmwares starting from ~2015 have auto-reset off by default. We agreed that we should default to support contemporary firmwares.

Have we updated the wiki to say use an new firmware and point to somewhere that describes how to update it?

Well, we discussed that with @d3zd3z and @microbuilder that we want to make this change. The wiki update is in the queue, but not done as of right this moment, going to do this soon.
