At the moment, many VM plugins are disabled during the Sandbox simulation. However, it would be possible to virtualize some of them. See [squeak-dev] [ANN] SimulationStudio and sandboxed execution for Squeak for further thoughts on this matter.
Plugins that would be interesting for virtualization:
FilePlugin: Redirect all write accesses to a certain subfolder. Think about useful limitations (e.g. file sizes).
SocketPlugin/SqueakSSL: Only allow requests to the internet, not to the LAN. Probably only white-lists? Consider Störerhaftung and possible time-outs.
File-format specific plugins such as JPEG, MIDI, OGG, ZIP, etc.?
TODO: Add further plugins on demand.
