AltStore not prompting to install untether #150

AltStore does not give me the option to install the untether it just signs it like normal and I’m left with normal version of uncover. Yes I fsrestored first.

Alt store 1.4.8 yes the server is also updated iPhone 11 Pro Max iOS 14.3

looking for ideas. If anyone knows a way I can restore to 14.3 I’ll try that. I’ve installed the untether from the files here on GitHub everything runs no problem that way but I get the sleep/wake bug, so this method is out of the question. Anyway to force alt store to prompt the untether? Anyway to uninstall all Fugu14 related files from terminal? I’m willing to work on this.

Are you using last version of altstore?

I found a temporary fix. Install detailedbatteryusage tweak from big boss repo after just compiling and installing the fugu14 jail break on your Mac or virtual machine.

Haven’t got the sleep wake bug since I installed that tweak.. hopefully the dev’s force AltStore to give you the option to untether regardless of whatever and if it’s not supported uncover would tell you hey not supported. Was a very poor idea to implement some kind of check that prevents that dialogue from happening.

@iM4CH3T3 you need to understand how to edit the source code to add support, if you don't you should wait, this jailbreak is for devs mainly. For now you can jailbreak using taurine or unc0ver without the untether

Yes. Latest version of unc0ver 7.0.1 and altstore 1.4.8 I’m running iOS 14.3 on iPhone 11 & iPhone 8 Plus. Both won’t show the untether option

iPhone 8+ isn't compatible with this jailbreak, you can use checkra1n for it. About iPhone 11, I think you need to sideload unc0ver first, then open fugu and do jailbreaking with it, and then it'll make untether app

No go. Alt store still not displaying untether options. I think this might be an actual bug.

It doesn’t need to have it Untether app will work even if you reboot, it doesn’t need signing You just need to have it on home screen And after you jailbreak you can delete uncover and leave untether

But the problem is the sleep/wake bug isn’t fixed to my understanding unless alt store runs the exploit. If that’s NOT true then the sleep wake issue still exists for me even with the updated untether Fugu14 compiled way..

Did you restore rootfs and done everything from scratch?

Tried it tonight by myself and I have same issue. Uncover is actually signed in altstore, but I don't have it on home screen :/ And I'm also stuck with untether app which I can't open EDIT: What I have done is I signed unc0ver with 3utools at the end and installed it, seems to work EDIT: It does work, no sleep bug, all good

It’s def not unreleased to fugu 14. Alt store is the current way to “fix” the sleep wake bug... if alt store isn’t prompting people that have previously installed the untether then something needs to be done to fix it fugu14

If AltStore, a project not at all maintained by Linus is causing issues, then it is AltStore's issue, not Fugu's issue

Mate the official way that the dev said to get around the sleep/wake bug was to install through alt store then it is a bug on both ends that one needs to fix. I have posted in the alt store GitHub as well but why an update was pushed to fix some devices with sleep wake and not others is beyond me. So until Linus fixes 14.3 iPhone 11 Pro Max sleep wake issue with something other than “install through alt store” then it deserves to be in this forum. Many others are having an issue and it sucks that almost the newest device is stuck in a limbo state.

I was specifying the original issue (altstore not prompting for untether install). Sleep/wake is an unrelated issue and you should refer here for that, correct
