I am wondering the same thing, lol. But here is what is happening.
Gimp's team at a conference in July 2023 called "Wilbert Week" (which I did not attend) said they wanted my layer effects engine in Gimp officially. In September 2023 I sent Gimp's team a special version of my layer effects engine that has less features but uses GEGL only operations and no Gimp/GEGL hybrids like my plugin does, hoping they would accept it as that makes it easier for them to maintain.
So far I have not heard back from them on that issue. I don't wanna sound rude but they are difficult to work with. They could have already accepted my layer effects engine by now.
Today is a grand day as Gimp's team officially accepted the special GEGL Effects branch I sent them
It would be nice to have this plugin as a standard for gimp. What is missing to have it per default in gimp?
