Can't use the Escape button to quit Edit / Browser / Stats windows anymore? #190

I used to be able to hit the Escape button as soon as I finished editing a note / going through Browser to get back to whatever card or screen I was on in the main Anki window.

Not sure if this is an issue with Anki itself, the Customize Shortcuts Add-on, or macOS, but I haven't added any other new add-ons or made any other changes to my keyboard recently, and yet I can't use my Escape button as I used to.

It's definitely a 1st world problem, but it is so much easier to just hit Escape after editing, browsing, or going through the stats screen than to move my cursor to the little x at the corners of the windows to get back to the main Anki window.

I tried going into the Customize Keyboard shortcuts add-on and changing all of the close window shortcuts to "Esc" and "Escape" but nothing changed.

I finally tried using the shortcut "Ctrl+`" which worked in terms of sending me back to the main window, but it didn't close the Editor, Browser, or Stats windows for me.

Anyone struggling with this too, or know how to fix this?

Never mind, I realized it was a more macOS-wide problem... and it was related to enabling Siri. This article helped:
