I was thinking, what about hosting it in the form of a git repo? I get that GH has issues, but maybe CodeBerg, SourceHut or something.
That way anyone could suggest edits, and the decent additions can be merged. And it's easier to keep a project alive, as it can be forked by the community.
Although probably a false sense of security, but I always trust git projects more. The ability to see who made each addition (tho, it is trivial to spoof), and the more traction a project gets, the more eyes to spot any potential errors, and transparently raising issues.
i've thought about that and i think it's a good way to go - i guess i never did it for nostalgic reasons - Codeberg it is
i'll let you know when i move it since i believe you've linked to it
You should probably also put a link to the repo where the blog page used to be. As the old page probably been bookmarked and linked to by others too
absolutely - that guide is probably linked all over the place
new location: firefox-config-guide
you could leave your links as is if you want since the old page links to the codeberg repo
hey Lissy, you can un-sticky this issue

i first published the Firefox Configuration Guide for Privacy Freaks and Performance Buffs in 2015
i wrote the guide as much for myself as to share with others
truth be told, i am not the sharpest knife in the drawer and i never really felt qualified to be writing such a guide, however i never found a truly comprehensive guide anywhere else that covers terminology, preferences, arkenfox, system add-ons, extensions and how to configure them, profiles, web storage, etc., etc.
i'd like to 'pass the torch', as it were, to someone more capable than i - someone who understands the inner workings of Firefox and the threats to privacy better than i
the guide is responsible for probably 25%+ of my page views and is constantly in the top 5 most popular pages
i do have some conditions though...
if you're interested, let's talk and, if not, maybe you know someone who is
