Designers report that they will use the map features but wish to design it in an illustrated way but the complexity of the map means this is a bit of a complex task.

An easier way to update the image and layers of the map to ensure we can add height and custom design layers to the maps without breaking the functionality of the map itself.
Additional context
Mapbox already offers something similar so merging with this should prove useful.
