Specific build keeps enabling "Show Slot Placement Levels" #107

Describe the bug Every time I open the attached build, I see slot placement levels toggled on. I toggle it off and save the build but it never seems to stick.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open attached build file
  2. Note slot placement levels are displayed
  3. Toggle off display of slot placement
  4. Save build
  5. Re-open
  6. Note slot placement levels are still displayed

Expected behavior Slot placement level display should be whatever I last set it to

This problem is not new to the latest build of Mids. I'm not sure when it started but it was at least happening in the previous release.

Unfortunately we are unable to replicate this using the build provided above. The build loads as intended.

Can you clarify what you mean by "loads as intended"? The build loads for me too, it just shows slot placement levels.

Even with the latest build, even if I turn slot placement levels off, they turn back on the next time I load the character.

If you're able to turn off slot placement levels permanently can you post the resaved build here so I can look at it?

Crytilis commented 2 years ago

I sure can, sorry about that. What I mean is upon all test when loading the build slot levels are not shown unless we turn it on. Upon turning it off and closing the build/app and reopening slot levels showing are off unless we specified on prior to closing the app.

My suggestion in this case is to delete the config.json file located in your installations Data directory and reopen.

Are you testing with the publicly available download or with a dev build? I'd be really surprised if the publicly available download build doesn't show this issue since it's persisted across multiple uninstalls/reinstalls of the public releases.

Is it possible it's not the build that's corrupted but somehow my preferences/settings? (Kind of weird that it'd only manifest with this one specific build file, but the whole problem is weird.) Is there a good way to reset those completely?

Edit: I see you gave instructions for just that above, sorry, I will try that.

Deleting config.json did not help. Even with default, slot placement levels are displayed whenever I open this one particular build.
