Describe the bug A clear and concise description of what the bug is. After launch the App does not fully load. It stays as a tiny white window in my tool bar. It is white with the header of the build I saved that I am trying to open. I contacted my Virus protection and Windows to see if it was being blocked; it is not. I uninstalled and reinstalled MidsReborn and it still is doing the same each time. I downloaded the latest version https://midsreborn.com/. The previous build had no issues working. Can you assist please?

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'Shortcut'
  2. Click on 'MidsReborn'
  3. Scroll down to 'Tool Bar'
  4. See error "It stays like it is hung. It does not fully open"

Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

Screenshots If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem. Screenshot (119)

Excuse me but for the bit i can see Mids is not loaded in your screencap of, err, file explorer with CoH screenshots ?

I am not 100% sure to understand so i can only guess.

(Trying to picture what it could be)

I contacted my Virus protection and Windows to see if it was being blocked; it is not.

Not related and it would show you and alert, completely blocking launch if so.

The previous build had no issues working.

???

You mean taskbar (bottom "ribbon") not toolbar right ? if so right click on Mids' one, Restore or Maximize, see if it helps. In last resort, go to your mids' directory, delete config.json then restart it. Don't forget to turn on display of file extensions :)

OMG, thank you soooo much for getting back to me about this. I really appreceate this. Correct. It is not loading correctly. That is the issue.  I partially loads and all I get is the tiny white box at the bottom of my tool bar when I try to launch it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times. I even removed a previous version to make sure it was not getting in the way.

What do you mean file explorer? I took the screen shot to show the white box that I see on my tool bar.

Is there some place I Need to reinstal or something?

Oh thank you once again for getting back to me. Yes, you are correct I mean taskbar (bottom "ribbon") NOT toolbar. So I right clicked it and here is the screenshot of what it shows. Screenshot (120)

I am unfortunate NOT computer savy. Where is the MidsDirectory and what is config.json? And where can I find the display of file extensions. Sorry I just need a little bit more guidance.

When you hover your mouse over the icon there should be a preview widow that shows up just above it. You need to move your mouse into this preview window and right click it. Then you will get the option to restore/maximize which will bring it back into focus.

Thank you for answering me. I appreciate this so very much. So, i hovered over the icon and as the picture displayed from the previous message.... that is all that i can do. now when i click MidsReborn in the pop up another tiny window displays like it was trying to load another one. it still does not maximize. I again uninstalled and re-installed MidsReborn and it again only partially loads like its hung at that place and does not maximize. I even tried to go back to the previous version and it cant because this new version supersedes the older one. Please can you help fix this. I do thank you for responding to me Screenshot (121)

On your desktop, please right click it then choose open file location and take a screenshot. Will need to see where it's pointing to.

If you would like it may be easier to provide support via our Discord as well. There should be a link here on GitHub, our website, as well as the original forum post on HC forums.

Thank you for getting back to me once again. So, as you requested here is another screen shot. Screenshot (123) The only thing it is allowing me to do is pop up that second window with the Pin to task bar, Admin rights, and my saved builds and such.

Crytilis commented 2 years ago

I meant the actual shortcut icon on your desktop itself not the taskbar

Oh. Here is what you requested. Screenshot (124)

Sorry for the delay, had to move for a few days off home. Show file extensions --> from file explorer, view, check "File Name extensions"

Now from the folder you did show last, enter the Data subfolder, delete the config.json file, then restart Mids. Also check if it is pinned to taskbar: from the bottom bar, right click on icon(s), if one match mids or a residue of an old install, check "unpin from taskbar".

If that helps, for screenshots you can use stuff like ShareX or Greenshot to capture portions of your screen.

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! The deletion of that config.json file did the trick. Thank you sooooo very much.

Glad to hear :)
