Issue reminder to self.
Animation rendering is not optimized, especially for gpu.
Frames should be rendered in batches on render nodes, but currently are rendered one-by-one.
Phases:
Phase 1:
Implement frame takeover (allowing faster computers to take over frames from slower computers)
Implement basic batch rendering (give each render node 1/x of the frames to render, where x = number of nodes)
Phase 2:
Implement live performance benchmarking ("predict" which frames will be rendered last, and batch render those on faster computers)
