I'm not too keen on adding new types that are just duplicates of existing
ones... but
I have been considering adding a tag that lets you set the icon for the
objective...

From all I know WoW has 8 basic Quest types, which are the following:
1. killing
2. looting
3. convoying
4. killing one special mob (basicly Killing Quest type)
5. killing one special mob and bring proof (basicly Loot Quest type)
6. delivering
7. interacting with one or more objects
8. talking to a NPC (speak with a NSC as in "Hidden Enemies Part 3" "http://
www.wowhead.com/?quest=5729")
It would be very helpful if there will be a symbol for each of these quest
types.
The user will instantly know which quest is approaching him now and can prepare
better and faster for his task. The tag itself could look like this:
|S|kill|
|S|loot|
|S|convoy|
|S|killspecial|
|S|lootspecial|
|S|deliver|
|S|interact|
|S|talk|
S stands for symbol and the word in between for the quest/symbol type.
If you want I'll search for the icons to use.

I think you're overthinking it. Unless the player is only completing part of a
quest
(which is whet |Q|...| |QO|...| are for) you just need to use "C Quest Name".
You
don't have to impart anything more than "complete this quest" and maybe a small
hint
as to where to go or what use to complete it.

When I use the guide I'd like to know the quest type before I'm going into the
quest
area to complete it. I could look it up in the questlog, but I would already
have an
idea of what the quest is all about. It also helps me reminding the quest if I
did
it already with another character some time ago. So speeking just for me this
small
feature would help me a lot.
Maybe other users don't mind to have always the same sign or they feel even
bothered
by the different signs. But it stays by the author if he uses different signs
or
not. The users can chose different guides so they can also chose a guide, which
provides different signs, if they like it, or chose a guide which sticks with
the
"complete sign".
Maybe you can also integrate an option, which allows the user if he wants to
see
different signs or not by enabeling or disabeling the |S| tag. The C objective
stays
the same as it is. The icon changes only if a |S| tag is included into the C
objective and the option "show different quest signs" is enabled. This could be
enhanced if you could make the |S| tag also available for the N objective.
You would do me and maybe other users, who like the idea of having different
signs,
a really great favour. If you implement the option to toggle this feature noone
will
be bothered and all will be happy with TourGuide ;D My offer to look for the
different signs still exists...

Which is all just FLUFF, and I don't do fluff.

Hey, calm down a bit... It's just my opinion why it could be helpful and you
know
you don't have to implement the feature since you are the author. If you don't
like
the idea just leave me a factual comment that's all.
