Nuclearcraft radiations #56

Nuclearcraft added a radiation system, and there's many possibilities into integrating that mechanic into the pack. You can add rads to whole dimensions, specific biomes, items, blocks etc. There's also radiation shielding kits that can be applied to any armor (just like our cooling/heating kit idea).

Ideas : Have radiation be a common but negligible issue in the Overworld (until the player goes into nuclear power obviously). Make The End the first dimension needing actual radiation shielding to explore, just like the Nether with heat protection.

The Lost Cities will be extremely radioactive with abundance of mobs. However, this will be the only place you'll be able to obtain raw radioactive components.

Magical radiations : the idea is to make magic from other worlds to emit radiations. For now I thought about :

And to make it fair, give radiation shielding options to magic mods :

Why not mix tech and magic for better shielding options ?

Extra Planets cosmic rads ? If we add it, it would mainly affect space exploration, but I think making liquid starlight, The End, and anything void related from Thaumcraft (including flux rifts) emit cosmic rads instead of regular rads would make more sense, if that's even possible.

Might have to use NeighbourNotifyEvent with BlockFluidLiquidStarlight rip

NuclearCraft wasteland biome will spawn with a weight of only 1 in the overworld, radiation level from turned from 0.25 -> 0.005.

Lost Cities dimension/planet radiation: 0.1

Radiation world tick rate = 400 Radiation player tick rate = 200

Player radiation decay rate = 0.000001 (1/40th of entity decay rate) Chunk radiation spread rate = 0.005

Fix hammer radiations later, doesn't respect NBT tag.

Wastelands has 4x the chance of spawning radioactive ores
