Firefox Support #6

What are your thoughts on support for Firefox? It also uses the WebExtension API, but with some minor differences, so porting it shouldn't be a huge pain.

Mozilla made a guide to porting an extension from Chrome here. This website checks a .crx file of an extension and displays any compatibility issues.

This extension has really helped me out, but I use Firefox as my main browser, so I'd be really thankful if you guys end up porting to Firefox.

Hey! We currently have plans to port to Firefox, and hope to have most of the functionality ported over before the Fall 2019 semester. Be sure to stay on the lookout for any updates to come. Thanks!

Is this still being worked on? I know you guys must be busy with school and/or internships so no worries if you don't have the time.

I made a fork here that supports Firefox. Trouble is it's not cross compatible with both chrome and firefox; if I get a chance to get this to work I'll submit a pull request.

Meanwhile if you just want to use the extension on Firefox, here's a direct download link. I've also submitted the extension to Mozilla but it's currently pending approval.

The firefox extension is up. There's some issues I've noticed (e.g. the catalyst grade distribution colors are transparent; the import button doesn't seem to work) but most of it seems to work fine

Hey @AMACB it looks like the extension has been removed/hidden from the Firefox extension store. Do you know what's going on by any chance?

AMACB commented 2 years ago

The folks at Mozilla unfortunately removed the extension from the store since it the audience is too specific. You should be able to install it manually still.

That's quite weird. I've had this completely nonsensical extension up for almost a year now: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/obamify/, and it hasn't been taken down.
