[Feature Request]

Please add an ability to import .stl files, in both binary and ascii versions. STL is very simple format, which should make it easy to import and is used a lot. Thanks.

As I mentioned in the other issue report, we have plans in the roadmap for a major overhaul to the 3D Model Importer. That is expected to support STL files.

In the meantime, we have an experimental app (works on Mac and Windows, but not Linux) that imports STL files. You can find that here: http://madewith.lookingglassfactory.com/app/43/
