I don't understand. At the end it was concluded that it can be used to break CC like WotF since it uses the same words.
By DrDrako (460 – 5·13) on 2008/06/26 (Patch 2.4.2) Just a tip to all hunters. Do not use this when sapped. save it for cheap shot, or if the rogue garrotes, kidney shot. Many a time I've seen a hunter BW out of sap, then have it fade before the rogue does anything. Ghakor on 2008/08/29 (Patch 2.4.3) I think the stupidity of BW to break sap would be right up there with using your Trinket on a sap.
By Sabelan (330 – 4) on 2008/06/27 (Patch 2.4.2) No one has mentioned this so I will, not only is it immunity but while IN stun you can break out and I believe the same goes for fear, but you can't get out while polymorphed.

By ZealotTheAloof (390 – 3·2) on 2008/01/21 (Patch 2.3.2) This is pretty much 'I win button' against rogues, mages, warlocks, priests, druids and shamans. Be careful though, avoid using it as an opener against paladins and possibly, discipline priests as they can bubble/pain suppress out of it pretty much. Also try to use it only in critical situations, unless you are fighting against a SP or warlock who can instantly fear you as beast within only makes you immune to fear but does not break it. I also recommend making a macro: AP trinket + Bestial Wrath. My pet crits for over a thousand when both my trinket and BW are up.

Currently, the Beast Within does not break CC. The spell itself states that the user becomes immune to CC. It should function similarly to how WotF breaks Fear/Charm/Sleep then makes the user immune for X seconds.
Aside from the spell text, you can also see people talking about how they used to use it to break CC before it was removed in a much later patch.
