The final quest in the Teron Gorefiend chain in Shadowmoon Valley involves being forced to kill Karsius the Ancient Watcher by the quest NPC who is Gorefiend himself.
The quest is supposed to involve getting "possessed" which means that you gain a pet bar with 4 abilities and need to use the Ancient Shadowmoon Spriit (Gorefiend) to kill the NPC. If the pet/Gorefiend that you're given dies the quest fails. I don't remember if other players can attack the Watcher while you're controlling the pet. I think the watcher might have to be targeting the Gorefiend pet when it does.
Right now there is no pet and no possession, the NPC just spawns (and it's neutral not hostile) and you attack it with your normal abilities. It also does very little damage so is a very easy quest.
