OR Version: X1427 Route - Pocohontas; Activity - created with Activity Generator; Location - Bluefield yard.

I switch to Manual mode to back up and open a switch to a siding and then enter to pick up 15 cars from a set of 20. I connect brake hoses, uncouple unwanted cars, release handbrake. Some observations:

  1. The last car shows "State Emergency" until I start to move the cars, then clears to Release.

  2. Bug: the Alt-9 and Alt-3 keys to select which car to view are now selecting only the cars that are left in the siding that were part of the original consist. I cannot get the 2 or 3-views to show the part with the locomotives.

  3. If I now select the 4-view, OR crashes with: Error: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at ORTS.Train.ChangeToNextCab() at ORTS.TracksideCamera.Update(ElapsedTime elapsedTime)... etc.

This is reproduceable.

P.S. I had already posted this in the OR Forum on the MSTS site, before I noticed this bug reporting site. Sid P.

Update - Switching to Manual and uncoupling and recoupling some cars in an already coupled consist does not cause the problem. (i.e. running the Marias Pass - "Auto Train with Setout" activity).

Thanks for the clear bug report; I would suggest in the future keeping each bug report to a single issue at a time, so that we can track each fix individually.

Issue 2 might be fixed by V1446.

Issue still remains when running X1455. When using front coupler and following a diconnect the view remains with the cars left behind. Rear coupler works okay. Reported in Bug 1127659 I have tried this on three switching activities on Canton and also on Feather River. Regards

Workaround found: Press 9-key "Jump Back Player". This restores the 2-view and 3-view to the player train. (Version X1455).

Please see if it still crashes using the newest release.

X1576 - Works OK, no crashes. (There are some strange 4-view eye-locations in crowded switch yard after coupling, but OK after loco moves out of siding.) Looks fine. Bug #1127659 still present - used 9-key to restore 2-view and 3-views.
