When I am Stopped At a station, the crossing gates ahead of me are supposed to time out and raise if the train is stopped at a distance farther than the minimum activation distance set by MSTS Route Editor. Unfortunately they remain Down. That is not the Issue with the crossing behind me. For Example I could Be stopped 100 meters before the crossing ahead of me but the gates don't time out unless I am much farther back from the crossing ahead of me. Ideally, the minimum activation distance between the crossing behind me should be equal to the minimum activation distance from the crossing ahead of me. The Gates should only activate earlier if i am going Faster. Can you please look in to this and let me know when you can? -

Route: Surfliner V2, Explore Route. Starting Location, Santa Barbara Station, Enroute To Los Angeles. Train: Surfliner F59PHI and 5-6 Cars, Centered between the two crossings.

Level crossings work through different rules in different countries. The settings in MSTS do not allow for such variations. The situation you describe has the serious drawback that when the train departs, it sets off through the open crossing. Player trains may depart with care and take this into account, but AI trains can not as there is no link back from level crossing to train. That situation is therefor very unrealistic. It can actually happen that trains run straight through cars at the crossing.

Because of this, level crossings in OR work according to the following rules :

With the limited settings available at present, and the fact that there is no link between signalling and level crossings, this is at the moment the best that can be done. This may not be prototypical for all countries, but with the limited settings it is not possible to make it prototypical for all situations.
