What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Python 2.6.2 64-bit is installed with as part of a software product. Python
is available, but is not in the Windows registry and not an 'installed program'.
2. Installer for pyodbc 3.0.7 cannot install because it looks for Python in the
registry and it is not found.
3. Build from source using pyodbc-3.0.7 fails with error Unable to find
vcvarsall.bat.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Is there a way to install on Windows without Python as an installed program or
in the Windows registry?
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
pyodbc 3.0.7 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Service Pack 1
