Same problem here. An older version of SwiftDefaultApps seems to work.
Download name: Version 1.1.3.
(The pane self identifies as "SwiftDefaultApps, v. 2.0.0 build 319".)
(Under macOS 10.14.6 one can also still use RCDefaultApps.)
v2.0.1 has just crashed almost straight away for me too on 10.15.7.
I opened it up for the first time, had a click around a few things, added a new URI Scheme and changed the default viewer for org.videolan.webm and then when I tried to exit Sytem Preferences using the red X Close button in the top left if wouldn't close. Everything within the System Preferences froze and I couldn't click anything. My keyboard input also paused temporarily until I force closed System Preferences although this may not be directly related.
I haven't made any further changes, nor closed my Macbook, however now when you go into the pref. panel the Internet Options are all blank.
I just installed the preference pane on my Mac running Mojave / macOS version 10.14.6 (18G6032)
As soon as I try to open the System Preference pane, System Preferences crashes.
Here are the crash logs (which don't help me but I hope will help the developer)
SystemPreferences-swda.zip
I even tried manually removing the quarantine flag from it (
xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine
) to make sure that wasn't causing the problem.Edited to Add…
It works fine on my other Macs running Big Sur and High Sierra. Not sure why it's not working on the one Mac where I really need it, or what I should try to help fix it.
