Diamonds:

[x] Diamond (C) - spawns rarely, low, in sparse, spindly veins, loosely surrounded by graphite and coal
[x] Graphite (C) - spawns around diamond veins (usually) with a wide, sparse radius (usually indicates diamonds are near)

Iron:

[x] Hematite (Fe2O3) - spawns beneath larger bodies of water, in large, amorphous blobs
[ ] Magnetite (Fe3O4) - spawns in medium-sized veins in sand
[x] Pyrite (FeS2) - spawns in small veins, sometimes around native gold

Copper:

[x] Native (Cu) - spawns in small veins
[ ] Azurite (CuCO3) - sometimes spawns with malachite
[ ] Malachite (Cu2CO3(OH)2) - spawns sparsely in medium-sized veins
[ ] Turquoise (CuAl6(PO4)4(OH)8·4H2O) - spawns sparsely in medium-sized veins
[ ] Chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) - spawns sparsely in medium-sized veins, often with small amounts of silver, assoc. pentlandite

Gold:

[x] Native (Au) - spawns in small veins, with larger pyrite clustered around it
[ ] Electrum (AuAg) - spawns in small veins

Silver:

[ ] Native (Ag) - spawns in small veins, assoc. acanthite, etc.
[ ] Electrum - see Gold
[ ] Acanthite (Ag2S) - spawns in small veins, assoc. native, pyrargyrite, proustite
[ ] Pyrargyrite (Ag3SbS3) - spawns in small veins
[ ] Proustite (Ag3AsS3) - spawns in small veins

Tin:

[x] Cassiterite (SnO2) - spawns sparsely in medium-sized veins

Zinc:

[ ] Sphalerite ((Zn, Fe)S) - associated with galena, pyrite

Lead:

[ ] Native (Pb) - small veins
[ ] Galena (PbS) - needs more reading - important source of silver?

Nickel:

[ ] Native (Ni) -
[ ] Pentlandite (Fe,Ni)9S8 - Spawns in sparsely in medium-sized veins, assoc. chalcopyrite

Coal:

[x] Anthracite (C) - Spawns in clumps, getting larger the further down they spawn; may also spawn surrounding diamonds
