Since we don't have editors assigned yet, my boo boo, you get me. Wee!
Notes:
Great article. These are just cleanup notes.
Do not start an article with a heading. It looks odd on feeds, excerpts, search
results, etc. It also confuses people in some Themes as the heading and title
often look the same. Just get to the point.
Great use of titles in the links, however I found WordPress spelled wrong two
different ways. That's a record for this class. :D
Take out the first person voice in the second voice. You can tell us what this
article will focus on without that. This keeps a voice of authority in the
telling.
Put the instructions in a numbered list so they are step by step for creating
the shortcodes. That will help this article get into the class notes. Remember,
your fellow students, bright as they are, will be reading this. Hold their
hands.
What is missing in your instructions is where they find the ID numbers. Hmmm.
Consider taking them through one of them step-by-step to show an example of
where to find the ID numbers.
The list features the following format:
Video Type Name - use - shortcode
Can you do this without the "use?" A dash, colon, anything else will work.
The first example usage is the demo, the second is an example, so the use of
"or" between them doesn't work. Keep the numbered nested list, but kill the
"ors."
In YouTube Adjustments section, what you are talking about are shortcode
parameters, custom settings that modify the shortcode in some way. Tell them
that.
Okay, counter that. The ampersand usage are conditional settings, instructions
to the YouTube player. Some of the WordPress shortcodes have parameters that
modify their settings such as the gallery shortcode, but these are YouTube
specific. Either way, clarify those points to help people understand what you
are doing.
"Add to the Sidebar/Footer" should be titled "Add Videos in WordPress Widgets."
More appropriate.
Give us a screenshot of what the Text Widget would look like, and the front
page view.
Well done!!
Since you are ahead of the game, one of the tasks we need to do with ClarkWP
articles is link to previous articles on ClarkWP that are related. Consider
adding a h2 or h3 heading at the bottom of the post that states "Related
Articles" and add an HTML list of articles related to this subject. There is
one on how to post a picture or video in a comment, and look to see if there
are any others. If there is only one, consider how to include a link to that at
the bottom of the article in a summary paragraph.
Really great job!!!

Great job. I did some editing to clean it up, like breaking up huge paragraphs
and being more specific with some of the information.
I distinguished the video shortcodes you are talking about in the article as
the ones on WordPress.com as these do not work on WordPress.org sites unless
they are using the Jetpack WordPress Plugin, and then not all of them are in
the Plugin.
I had to change the 1111 to zzzz and the [ to [ as these converted into videos.
Didn't you think that strange when you previewed it? :D
h5 is not recognized by this Theme.
There are some other nice shortcode articles out there. Check WPBeginner and
other sites. Consider adding some links to references that talk about how to
add shortcodes to WordPress Themes. You don't have to say anything, just
include the links.
