What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Attempting to type a gsm.sim.operator.numeric code over 5 digits long into 
last tab box.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: supported and working perfectly
Instead: unsupported, text box locks at 5 digits

What version of the product are you using? On what ROM?
I believe this is global, but I am using a Desire running 2.2 stock ROM, but 
rooted with ClockWorkMod Recovery.

Please provide any additional information below.
The MNC I am trying to type is the one for Rogers, Canada [30272000]

Attach a logcat output if possible.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Network_Code 
Rogers should have the code 302720

Info from the Gsm Association:
Operator Name       Rogers Wireless
Network Name        Rogers Wireless
Network Type        GSM 1900
Handset Code        
Network Code        302 720
Network Status      Live November 2001

They changed the codes from 5 digits (2+3) to 6 digits (3+3) some years ago but 
you try to enter a 8 digit code.
You should be able to enter 6 digits (I tested it on my nexus just now with 
MarketEnabler).

Where did you get that mnc+mcc code from with 8 digits? I seen some lists 
floating around on different boards in a short google lookup but my 
understanding is that they officialy are 6 digits with 3 mcc that identifies 
the country of the provider and 3 mnc that identifies the network of the sim 
issuer.

Do you use MarketEnabler or MarketAccess?
@Serge did you restrict the input box to 5 digits in your branch?

Just for your information, I added rogers wireless in version 3.1.1.2 of 
MarketEnabler ;-)

MarketAccess allows 6 digit codes, just verified.
