I think the sprite edges of flames when Lara's burning in a lava pit might be another candidate for this.

Found another case when recording some materials for the Midas hands gold reflections https://github.com/rr-/Tomb1Main/issues/154#issuecomment-1405852940 . The little golden sparkles around Lara have semi-transparency.
For later, basically like TR2Main had added it too. In TR1 a bit less prevalent, but still nice and PS1 only (don't know for sure if Saturn has it too).
Things I know to have alpha blending, but the list may be longer:
Water surfaces TR1Main PS1
Dart puffs
Water splash animation Also on waterfalls themselves
Other instances I can think of might be the lava particle edges.
