Fairly evident in the beginning of Living Quaters (left side) Lara's braid points straight down when you have her near the slope. I think it happens as soon as her position is above the lowest pointer of the ceiling slope.
Can reproduce on PS1 too.
It's quite nice how the braid will actually push against the geometry eventually otherwise:
