Single player. Both regular crafting and remote crafting regularly lose JEI option, sorting direction, and sorting method. Seems to happen more frequently with the remote. Occasionally, remote starts spitting items back into my inventor instead of back into storage, even with plenty of space available. Crafting remote is kept in a curio slot. Also, interestingly, it seems it does maintain the options if I keep the remote in my actual hand and do not choose another slot (ie remote is in slot 7, pick is in 3, sword is in 1). If i close and reopen the remote, it keeps the settings; if I scroll to another item and then come back to the remote, all the options are reset again.
